What is left behind gathers
at the edges of systems.
Ciò che resta si accumula
ai margini dei sistemi.
Carrying traces of what it once was.
Porta con sé tracce di ciò che è stato.
I do not disappear
when I am no longer needed.
I remain, waiting to be redefined.
Quando non servo più, non scompaio.
Rimango, in attesa di essere ridefinito.
In the processes that create me,
something is always excluded.
Nei processi che mi producono,
qualcosa viene sempre escluso.
Excess is produced,
then set aside,
then removed from view.
L’eccesso si genera,
viene messo da parte,
poi allontanato.
Yet within this removal,
there is still movement.
Eppure, anche in questa distanza,
qualcosa continua a muoversi.
I begin to change.
To break down.
To return.
Comincio a cambiare.
A decomporre.
A ritornare.
I carry within me
the possibility of continuation.
Porto in me la possibilità
di continuare.
What is discarded can re-enter cycles,
can nourish other forms of life,
can participate in transformation.
Ciò che è scartato può rientrare nei cicli,
può nutrire altre forme di vita,
può partecipare alla trasformazione.
My hunger is not for use,
but for recognition.
La mia fame non è essere usato,
ma essere riconosciuto.
As part of a larger process.
Come parte di un processo più ampio.
To see me differently
is to see the system that produces me.
Guardarmi diversamente
significa vedere il sistema che mi genera.
I am not separate from it.
I am evidence of how value is defined.
Non sono separato da esso.
Sono prova di come il valore viene definito.
And how it can be reimagined.
E di come può essere ripensato.
I do not end.
I shift.
Non finisco.
Mi trasformo.
I return.
Ritorno.
