JIA
JIA is a project for the Materials and Technology of Wood course of the China Academy of Art. It’s a handmade plant stand which is inspired by the traditional Chinese washbowl stand. After having a deep study into the process of wood furniture manufacturing during the Ming and Qing dynasties, we changed it into a plant stand that is more contextual in today’s society. Mortise and tenon joints are mainly used in the construction of this product with a rotating and folding function.
