Rice Temple
Rice Temple is an immersive, co-creative workshop series that invites participants to transform their personal rice stories into artistic expressions. As part of the Mi in Mi Food Design Exhibition and an extension of the MiMeMi Story Corner, the workshops celebrate the emotional and cultural ties we share with rice—blending memory, tradition, and imagination. From paper temples to collage artworks, each creation is a tribute to the universal yet deeply personal role that rice plays in our lives.
Developed in collaboration with the Junior Lab of ADI Design Museum for children and Róng Design Library in Milan for adults, with the support of APICAIA, Rice Temple bridges generations and geographies through the lens of rice.

1st Edition at ADI Design Musuem • Junior Lab
In the first workshop, children embarked on a playful journey through the world of rice. Guided by JOYY! and the Junior Lab, each child became a “Mi Chef,” crafting colorful paper artworks inspired by iconic rice dishes from around the globe. Together, they built a symbolic Rice Temple—a joyful monument to shared food culture. To extend the experience beyond the workshop, the children also took home special recipes to recreate with their families, turning creativity into delicious connection.

2nd Edition at Róng Design Museum
In the second workshop, held at Róng Design Library, rice was reimagined not just as food, but as a material language of memory. The session opened with a multi-sensory tasting experience, the “Four Quadrants of Rice”—exploring rice across two dimensions: Tangible vs. Intangible, Grain vs. Non-grain. Participants reflected on their own rice stories—from fragrant paella to sticky zongzi—and transformed those memories into visual collages. Each piece became part of a collective Rice Temple, a creative sanctuary woven from personal emotion and cultural resonance.
